NBC Partnered with Invoke to Build Social Gaming Applications to Create Customized Experiences for Fans of ‘The Voice’
New York, NY (April 30, 2012) – NBC selected Invoke Media to help power its interactive marketing strategies for the popular television series, ”The Voice.” Invoke was also selected to build applications for NBC’s ”Awake” and the recently announced “Ready for Love.”
Through the relationship, Invoke has built an application on Facebook to empower fans of “The Voice” to truly engage and become a part of the competition. Invoke’s application, The 5th Coach Game, which launched with the kick-off of the second season of “The Voice”, enables fans to create their own virtual team, essentially becoming the fifth coach. The application provides interactivity, social game mechanics, community sharing and features exclusive content, weekly prizes and a sweepstakes contest. The 5th Coach Game is a strategic interactive marketing application that has become a powerful community building program for “The Voice”.
“For season one, ‘The Voice’ established itself as a thought-leader amongst the multitude of singing competitions by integrating social media directly into the show. The 5th Coach Game takes this one step further by involving their fans in the process,” said Dario Meli, co-CEO of Invoke and co-founder of HootSuite. “The 5th Coach Game was developed to engage fans on a completely different level. It is like the Fantasy Sports League for singing competitions minus the taunting and ridicule from your friends if you lose, but we can’t guarantee that.”
The 5th Coach Game enables fans to form their ultimate team, recruit advisers and find out more information about their favorite coaches and artists. The game simulates the coach’s experience by allowing fans to select their team of 12 artists and predict winners in the battle rounds. During the live shows, six artists from each coach’s team perform and fans choose who they think will continue on. Fans playing The 5th Coach Game earn points for every correct choice. Fans have a multitude of chances to win prizes in weekly drawings, as well as a sweepstakes contest with a grand prize for a trip for two to Los Angeles to meet the winner of season two of “The Voice”.
